
As the leading metalcasting association of North America, the American Foundry Society (AFS)offers members educational programs and information on technology, marketing, management, human resources and research. AFS also provides leadership in government relations at the national level through its lobbying efforts and involvement with government agencies setting industry standards.
In 1954, AFS built its headquarters in Illinois. With over 14,000 members in 47 countries, AFS encompasses 53 local chapters, as well as 17 student chapters, throughout U.S., Canada and Mexico. AFS has full-time staff and offers its members many benefits.
Members benefit from AFS by networking through chapters and committees; education through the Cast Metals Institute, technical publications, conferences and Casting Congress; technical through engineering services, software, environmental/safety and research; management including newsletters, human resource assistance and industry marketing; and information through library services and Modern Casting magazine.
