If you put two or more words in that box, you will get pages with any of them. If pages have all of them, they will be at the top. Example: induction melting
finds all documents containing 'induction' or 'melting', with those having both 'induction' and 'melting' at the top.

induction OR melting
Same as above. You don't have to capitalize the the OR; I did it to emphasize the fact that it's a connector, not a word on which to search.

induction AND melting
finds documents containing both 'induction' and 'melting'. Documents with only one of those will not be reported at all.

induction NOT melting
finds documents containing 'induction' but not 'melting'.

metal*
finds documents containing words starting with 'metal'. So, you'll see pages with 'metal', 'metallurgy', 'metalcasting', etc.
